Idjah born from a family of art lovers Sunda, and he began studying as a singer since the 1970s. He studied to Deden Winingsih, and he joined the puppet show since 1972. Tjetjep Supriya Supriya Tjetjep later became her husband.
In the 1980s, Idjah at the peak of his career as a singer for a group of puppet show led by her own husband. Then Gugum Gumbira then sign him to sing songs for the group Jugala jaipong genre. For approximately four years, Idjah jaipongan recorded about 40 albums on cassette, and other rhythmic music.
